Trinity has partnered with The Heroes Foundation to create the country’s first ever corporate workplace model of the Big Brothers Big Sisters programme. The eighteen month commitment by Trinity sees seventeen form two students or ‘Littles’ paired with our adult volunteers or ‘Bigs’ who participate in biweekly activity sessions and group activities aimed at developing both groups. This programme is motivated and guided by our values, how we do business and our passion to see a greater Trinidad and Tobago though the drops we add in the barrel. We believe that not only must the lives of those with whom we interact be enhanced, but ours too, by our involvement, must also be transformed.
The Heroes Foundation
Established in October 2002, The Heroes Foundation is a registered non-profit organisation focusing on the creation and promotion of mentorship activities, by the youth and for the youth. The Foundation’s ultimate goal is to improve the youth’s self-belief and knowledge by exposing them to positive achievers and achievements, enhancing their skill and resource pool, and empowering them to make a positive difference in someone else’s life. This is done through strategic activities in schools and community projects targeting teenagers in the Youth Development Programme, and mentoring in the Big Brothers Big Sisters programme. The Foundation has also expanded its vision to include targeted educational programmes with other NGOs through which people can display this heroic spirit and give the national community opportunities to explore how they too can become Heroes.
